After the war in the Balkan, countless numbers of people lost their houses, their pasts and futures. Society fell apart and has yet to be restored. These dwellings, individuals and tragic events are black spots in the collective memory. The individuals affected once formed families that occupied the houses that made up the villages and the towns. Now something or someone is always missing; life lacks a future and people would rather erase the past.
By photographing the families and placing the photo’s in an archive, we will be creating bonds that will help to repair the social fabric.
